SVD Presents: Rassvet, the New Dawn of Gosha Rubchinskiy

Gosha Rubchinskiy, the most influential designer of his generation, often shows us post-Soviet landscapes and rave influences through recontextualizations that try to break the border between East and West. His continuous revivals take us from fashion to opera, including clubber nostalgia and the skate universe.

Tolia Titae has been traveling the world since he was a kid to show off his skateboarding skills. He also draws, tattoos and has appeared in Supreme lookbooks. Gosha Rubchinskiy, who has always been interested in representing subcultures, made him his brand's image and was his source of inspiration, guide, and partner.

In 2016 Gosha Rubchinskyi and Tolia Titaev created Rassvet, or PACCBET in Cyrillic alphabet, a brand that takes up the slogan already used by Gosha for his eponymous brand рассвет не за горами, which means "the dawn is near". Rassvet looks at a new generation of skaters through garments produced by Comme des Garçons and translates global references into a new language.

Rassvet, the new incorporation to SVD's catalog, is formed from references to science fiction about the turn of the millennium, rave culture, and shapes designed for comfort and durability that draw inspiration from avant-garde artists of Soviet iconography.
