SVD x le PÈRE

“A letter from my father” by Greta Fernandez

Last Thursday 24, SVD hosted the launch of ‘A letter from my father’, the photo exhibition by Greta Fernández that will be hosted at SVD’s flagship store in Barcelona (C/Bailén, 18) until December 8. In an intimate evening full of emotions, the event was the perfect opportunity to launch the new fragrance and le PÈRE’s FW22 collection.

To mark the launch of le PÈRE in Spain, with SVD as its main and only retailer, the exhibition reinterprets the original concept of its creator, Duane Michals, who wanted to capture his father's gaze through photography 50 years ago. This concept is reinterpreted in this FW22 collection as part of Driley S.’s le PÈRE campaign.

There are 12 black-and-white photographs in this exhibition, all featuring a piece of text written by Greta in response to her father. In this special setting, Greta concluded with a sweet and affectionate speech that encapsulated the beautiful father-daughter relationship. “This exhibition is simply that, a brief journey that retrieves conversations we had, or never had”, she explained.

50 people attended this event, including Greta’s close circle of friends and family. The gastronomic experience was complemented by a vernissage paired with Ribeira Sacra wine.

The actress ventured into this project by exploring her newly-discovered creative field: photography. She explains that, by sharing the same profession as her father, Eduard Fernández, they have always worked with emotions, but this is the first time she will communicate with him through photography, in response to one of his letters.

le PÈRE, the Brookyln-based menswear fashion label, was established by bringing together a host of emerging and established designers, illustrators, and partners to create its capsules. Noah Baker, Cherry Kim and Bráulio Amado designed the first collections that integrate the world of visual arts through fashion in many artistic approaches, yet continue to keep in line with le PÈRE’s commitment.
